The Pacific Ring of Fire

The article that was published by the basicplanet  , talks about a big semi-circle area in the Pacific Ocean wich covers the Coasts of South America and North America to Eastern Asia, Australia and New Zealand. It is known as The Pacific Ring of Fire.
According to the information this article provides, 75% of the volcanoes in the world are found here. The majority of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world are also found in this area. They are   considered  that way because at the time they erupted, a lot of people were killed.
The Pacific Ring of Fire hasn't the same shape as it was many years ago. This change is the product of the movements produce by tectonic plates. The Pacific Plate hit the Continental plate, and sinks below it. In the subduction zone, the Pacific plate melts producing magma, that then, raises to the surface in volcanic eruption. Not only the movement produces magma if not earthquakes.
As the text says, the most catastrophic events that occur in the Pacific Ring of Fire are the eruptions of Mt. Saint Helens in 1980, and the Santa Maria Volcano in 1902.
