Holidays in Space

In Language, we were asked to make an essay about going on holidays to space. In it, we had to include four metaphors or similies, six descriptive adjectives, five images and seven connectors. 

Go on holidays to space, in my opinion, is one of the most marvelous things that could happen in a person's life. Besides, if you could go on that trip, you could feel the rare gravity, you could appreciate the celestial milky way, the solar system, the moon, and the radiant sun.
Despite all the positive aspect, it has, it's not a journey for everybody since it is very expensive, it's more common to hear famous people like Katy Perry travel to space. In addition, it is not a trip as going to the beach: people have to prepare themselves for days as
professional astronauts. Furthermore, in the same ship many problems can come up for example, having problems when it take off and land.
To conclude, I would like to go on that journey. I don't care if time is a thief up there, cause what it get to see makes a breakthrough in the person's life.

In language, we had to write a reply for a friend that lives in another country. In it, we had to use at least four connectors, six descriptive adjectives, the text must be written in present perfect simple or countinuous. Before writing, we had to make a plan, in it we had to include characteristics about our best mate, our family and the recent activities we had been doing.

Hi Ben,
It's great to hear from you again! I have many things to tell you, but I'll answer your questions first.
  Well. as you know, here, in Argentina the summer has finished recently. I enjoy every moment, mainly with my friends and my family.
During the summer I played in the enormous pool of the place where I live with my funny and fantastic group of friends. With them, we started a dull swimming class which I left quickly. Eventhough I have friends, I also have two best friends: Candela and Paula. Both are very sympathetic and beautiful. However the difference is that Paula is taller than Candela .
 The other part of the summer, I spent it with my huge family in Pinamar. Every day we woke up at 10 o'clock and walked to the beach , but if it rained we went by car to sightseeing. In my opinion, Pinamar is an exciting place as it is full of children of my age.
  To conclude I had had the most memorable summer, enjoying everyday with my friends and my awesome family. I have spent a really amazing summer so I wonder it is repeated.

Wild Club

In Language, we had to read the article "Wild Club" (from the Gold Experience book) and write a story that must begin or end like this: "What an amazing day! Max whispered to himself as he got into bed last night" We also had to use: five collocations, three phrasal verbs, five word formation, three bad weather conditions, four other words or phrases and five connectors.


This was the day Max was going to the zoo. It was 9.00 am and he opened the shutter thinking it was a sunny day. When Max opened it, he saw everything was flooded. He was dissatisfied with that day. Despite that he didn´t gave up and at 10:00 he was at the front door of the Zoo.
  When he was there, he appreciated that the place had burst it banks. The water had plummeted and he didn´t notice since he was overslept! Instantly, he was hooked by an open door. As soon as he saw it, he entered without knowing what was on the other side. Max was heartbroken with what he was observing. Sandbags to protect from water were everywhere. People form the Zoo running from one side to the other trying to help the animals. In between the minutes a hand held him and told to help her with the turtule. Furthermore he reopened his eyes, of course he was inexperienced!
    Max stayed all the day helping the people to rebuild the Zoo which was in a complete destruction while he watched the reconstruction of the wildlife habitat. Despite some things were thrown away, the objective was the conservation of species. They didn't run out of anything! -"What an amazing
day!-" Max whispered to himself as he got into bed last night.

We are what we wear

In the Language class we watched a movie called "The Devil wears Prada" wich talks about a girl who get in a very exhaustive job in an important fashion magazine and she started understaing how that world works. Then, we were asked to write an essay about what we think about the saying "We are what we wear" and our opinions. In the text we had to include six connectors, one rethorical question and two metaphors or similes.

Does a person have to be discriminated by the way he/she dresses? Definetely not. People have to mind their own buisness and not interfere in the way other people dress. If they think that being fashionable is cool, OK! They are what they want to be, every person in the world has to hold that idea.
  Both fashion and people go hand in hand, although that line is narrow in some cases. Some girls and boys don't care about what they are wearing since it doesn't interfere with their daily life, however sometimes they are insulted or look so rare that they start feeling discriminated. As a result they try to change their way of dressing.
  In my opinion fashion is important, I love wearing all the new clothes and being trendy, however besides, I understand that for some people this is not an important issue and they wear anything.
 To conclude, I would like to affirm that people are what they wear. The way they dress, in most of the cases, talks about their personallities, if they like to wear colourful outfits, that talks about them as joyful people.

This words are trying to say that is not necessary a person to speak to know how her/his personallity is because everything is said by the way he/she dresses

Etapa de Transición

En la materia prácticas del lenguaje, había que escribir un texto argumentativo a partir de la novela "Un veneno saludable". Para poder realizarlo había que seguir una serie de pasos que iban desde preguntas simples hasta incluir 3 características del texto argumentativo como citas de autoridad, ejemplos y enumeración de argumentos.

La novela "un veneno saludable" fue escrita por Marcelo Birmajer en 1994. Habla sobre un chico, que al no presentarse al servicio militar, se convierte en desertor y tiene que abandonar su casa y su trabajo.
    La historia es una novela centrada en el proceso de pasaje de la adolescencia a la adultez del protagonista.
    El pasaje de transición en su vida fue más una larga etapa, pero que lo ayudó a entender finalmente que es lo que el quería. Se puede decir que la misma comienza cuando él era adolescente, continua por el período que estuvo y formó parte de aquella familia  (en la que se encontraba Cecilia) y de aquel circo y finaliza cuando él entendió lo que significo Cecilia en su vida y que ese amor no podía durar para siempre "Recién ahora pienso que tal vez hay personas destinadas a quererse durante una cierta cantidad de tiempo, o mejor, a quererse siempre, pero a compartir la vida durante una cierta cantidad de tiempo". Durante su adolescencia su principal objetivo era no hacer lo que todos hacían , sino buscar una manera de evitarlo y, así,  tratar de no morir "Ya se que casi nadie quiere morirse [...] Si uno vive de determinada manera, se muere. Si uno vive de manera desconocida, tal vez pase otra cosa [...] yo, haciendo algo distinto, me libraba de la certeza de la muerte". Luego, cuando el tuvo que tomar la decisión de irse o no con el circo, eligió quedarse ya que si él se iba, comenzaría una vida normal y en ese momento el seguía tratando de evitarlo "¿Tengo que decir que no me podía ir porque si me sumaba al circo trabajaría feliz, crecería, envejecería y me moriría?".
El Sr. Maroll, con sus palabras simples pero profundas, lograron sacarle de la cabeza ese pensamiento que tenía el narrador. Ese cambio en la forma de pensar,  lo caracterizó como tomarse un veneno saludable "Usted me ayudó a tomarlo. Es un veneno mortal, de acción retardada, de sabor agridulce. Y me voy a morir.[...] Aceptar la muerte es el veneno necesario para empezar a vivir".
El personaje cambia, no físicamente pero si en su forma de pensar acerca de la vida y la muerte. Él, desde muy chico tenia mucho miedo a morir, y menciona que, en algún momento, se le instaló en la cabeza que la idea de la muerte era un hecho cultural. Él cambia radicalmente su manera de pensar, gracias a lo que le dijo el Sr. Maroll, él entendió que era hora de dejar de evadir lo que el destino le presentaba en su camino.
   En conclusión, el protagonista deja de ser el mismo de cuando empezó: un chico huérfano que no sabe que hacer con su vida. Ya en el final se puede notar a alguien muy diferente, maduro, que paso por su gran amor, y esta establecido en un trabajo muy bueno en la empresa Maroll.

Expressing opinions

In the language class, we had to prepare a text using  the different ways for expressing opinions. Then  the text had to be about three topics and separed them into paragraphs. I choose to talk about the environmental disasters, alcohol and drugs and parties.

In my opinion the environmental disasters are awful for the world. For example sometimes there is a hurricane or a tsunami somewhere in the earth wich some of them, people know they will happen but others not. What I mean with awful for the world is that each one that occurs kill many people or even hurt them, and in poor countries like Ahiti, they get many years to rebuild the country. Personally, I think that the countries in the world must help anyway the country that was affected.

   It's thought that the alchol and drugs are another big problem for people. Many of them, get the adiction of start consuming due to different things: depression, familiar problems, poberty, etc. Not only adult people have problems with them but teenangers. Many, are poor and to move money they start selling them.

 I hold the opinion that parties in general are very interesting and modern. There are different types of parties: school parties, tea parties, pyjama parties, pizza parties and a thousand more. From my point of view, pyjama parties are the best because I can share a really good night with my friends. Generally, we play some deskgames, watch some TV, play with the Play Station, etc.
